A C R E F A R M | Est. 2022
Our mission is to nurture our customers, our community, and the land we cultivate, creating wholesome food and lasting connections for generations to come.
ACRE Farm is the vision of husband and wife team, Emily and Alexander Aitchison alongside Alexander’s parents Caroline and Robin. Located in the heart of East Suffolk, near the market town of Framlingham, the farm is dedicated to regenerative and sustainable agriculture.
In 2022, Emily and Alexander set out on a mission to restore their farm, enrich the soil, and strengthen the local community. Their first major project was a 10-hectare agroforestry initiative, supported by the Woodland Trust. By early 2024, they had planted 2,500 trees and over 1,500 meters of hedgerows.
ACRE Farm’s vision is to revive traditional farming practices while regenerating the soil, using minimal external inputs, and avoiding fertilisers and herbicides. Central to their approach is a guiding principle: maximise the benefits provided by natural ecosystems.
Looking ahead, the medium-term goal is to create a self-sustaining farm that reduces reliance on fossil fuels while providing the local community with an abundance of high-quality, nutritionally diverse food. At the heart of the farm is a bakery producing delicious sourdough bread and an array of sweet treats. Fruit crops are transformed into jams, chutneys, preserves, and seasonal delicacies.
Future plans include introducing silvopasture, improving water management, and continuing to plant more trees and hedgerows. Follow the journey as ACRE Farm grows and flourishes…
